I choose this pattern as my project for Asilomar Rug Camp in 2003. Ann Taylor was my teacher and sent me dye recipes for my color plan. I enjoyed working with Ann and her gentle guidance on the petals of the main flowers.
It was a wonderful week meeting new rughooking friends, learning tapestry rughooking techniques, and walks along the beach at Pacific Grove.
I used #4 cut for all the flowers until I started the smallest purple flowers. I couldn't get enough values into each petal to create the separation, so I cut the strips smaller into #3 cut. Viola! #3 cut really gives you detail control.
