I was asked to teach at Little River Inn by friends of the Inn. Since I was vertually unknown in the Rug Hooking world at that time, I brought in Nancy Miller and Susan Higgins to teach. I would direct the Little River Inn Rug Camp. I needed a symbol for my advertisments and decided to hook a little rug of the Inn. I have made kits of this rug which are a little bit different since this orignal was hooked with left over wool.
The tree, an old black walnut, has since been cut down; it was struggling for a long time and had become a hazard.
10x12", wool on linen.
