Rug Artist & Teacher - Laura Webber Pierce

Welcome to my web-site!   I live in Petaluma, California in Sonoma County, 40 miles north of San Francisco. My mother lives here too, on the west side of town.  Emma has given me the lovely upstairs room for studio space and calls her home the House of 2 Studios!  My new dye kitchen in the garage apartment is wonderful!    Emma has been writing and publishing her memoirs. She has a smaller version of her 'coffee table book' of her rugs; "Evolving Design".   Contact me at (707) 762-2595 or Lwpierce@comcast.net   to purchase a book or schedule a visit.

emmy bubblesPress the bubble...   My Rug Portrait, 'Emmy', made it into Celebrations XVIII!
It's always an honour to have a rug selected for this publication.  I enjoyed showing 'Emmy' at Sauder Village Rug Show in August 2008.   'Emmy' graced the cover of the June/July/August 2009 issue of Rug Hooking Magazine; having won the Viewers Choice!   Thank-you!

I enjoy teaching and sharing the Art of Rug Hooking.  I teach classes on Saturdays and at Rug camps around the country.  I'm available to teach a class or workshop per your request, at my place or yours;   My patterns, hand-dyed wool, basic supplies & services are available at my Studio; call for an appointment Wednesday through Saturday.

As your grateful hostess, I direct the  Little River Inn Rug Camp, a rug hookers' holiday on the Mendocino Coast! Gail Becker and Tanya Graham are our teachers for November 4-9, 2012.
I'm also running a camp at Asilomar: I've changed the format and am orchestrating the Monterey Fiber Jam!  February 12-17, 2012.   Please let me know if you are interested in joining us.
